The Cabin

Tim and Beth were very friendly and kind. The cabin was cozy, warm, comfortable and charming during our winter visit — we came to hike in Minnewaska State Park. The hot tub was awesome after a day of hiking, and we had a fun dinner in New Paltz one night. Tim introduced us to his horses and pig — we’d love to come back in the summer and see the farm when it’s in bloom! Thanks for renting to us – we had a great weekend!- Hillary

Beth is the sweetest — she showed us around the farm upon arrival and helped us out with things to do (in mid January!) I rarely go to the same place twice, but I am TEMPTED to book again at Beth & Tim’s — such a beautiful escape yet so close to NYC. Love the piggy in the barn — a must see! This cabin is the perfect stereotypical “cabin in the woods” — all expectations were met. Thanks, B&T! – Alex

January 2014

We had such an amazing time at Beth and Tim’s place. My boyfriend and I went up from New York City for 2 days to ring in the New Year at Mr. Ed’s Cabin at Beth and Tim’s. It was perfect. The property itself is beautiful, with horses and the cutest cats. Beth and Tim were such warm and inviting hosts. We enjoyed breakfast with them on New Year’s Day, which set us straight before our long hike through the breathtaking Rail Trail. We arrived by bus in New Paltz, and took a cab to their residence in Accord, NY, which was around $25. The cabin itself was so lovely – the perfect little getaway. It had a small kitchen, a cozy bed, beautifully antique decorations, a TV with DirecTV, a cowboy-inspired bath/shower, and nice little porch area outside. We are so thankful for their generosity and warmth and could not have asked for a better way to ring in the New Year. We will certainly be back in the summer. Thank you Beth and Tim! – Tsitso

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The photos are consistent with the layout. It’s very cozy and while the space is small, it has everything you need. The farm is a welcoming and relaxing place, with dogs, cats, horses, chickens. Our puppy had a great time, that’s for sure. Worth mentioning: the cabin was clean, and plenty warm (during late October). There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, so we hope to come back again. – Dmitry

October 2013

What a magical experience. A perfectly situated, spanning property only a few short hours north of New York City. The cabin is quint, but yet full of the all the amenities you will need for a relaxing stay. The cabin was furnished and decorated with tremendous care, and you can tell Beth and Tim have been pouring their hearts into this property for a long time.

Beth and Tim welcomed my girlfriend and I on our first night with a wonderful fire in the fire pit, and sincere greetings. They are extremely friendly and welcoming, yet leave you to your own devices if you wish, a great balance.

We highly recommend staying here, the skies are clear and you have a beautiful panoramic view of the starry sky from you private fenced in yard, which was our dog’s sanctuary while there. We awoke to rooster calls in the am, horses grazing throughout the day, dogs roaming, and cats keeping us company.

Book this cabin if you want to get away from it all, in an amazing environment with generous accommodations and guests, you will leave refreshed and fulfilled, we look forward to staying in one of the other character filled listings soon! – Shawn

August 2013

I just came back from a wonderful vacation at Beth’s beautiful cabin. The pictures don’t do justice to this beautiful property. From waking up to the sound of the rooster and looking out the window at the beautiful horses roaming the property everything was absolutely perfect. The cabin is really clean and cozy. Beth and her husband were wonderful and very helpful. The hot tub was really nice and my 3 year old loved it when the horses came right up to him to visit when he was in the tub. I highly recommend this beautiful place for anyone looking for a family vacation or a romantic getaway. – Mindle

We had a fantastic long weekend at Mr. Ed’s Cabin. It was an easy journey from NYC but felt really relaxed and peaceful. We loved morning walks through the grounds and relaxing in our own little garden. We also had fun teaching our dog to swim in the creek and enjoyed the bonfire on Saturday evening. The cabin was really cosy and well designed so we had everything we needed. We hope we get to go back there soon! – Daniel

Had an amazing time – perfect cabin, big fenced in area for the dogs to run around in, a swimming creek, roosters horses cats and dogs wandering around, and at night literally thousands of fireflies lighting up the fields and trees. Would love to stay here again. – Jess

July 2013

We had a difficult time choosing a place in the New Paltz area and were so glad we picked this cabin! All of the reviews are correct- Beth and Tim are great, the cabin was so special I wanted to live there and the farm itself is a wonderful place to truly relax. My favorite moment was drinking coffee while reading, early in the morning, outside of our cabin as 2 horses grazed just feet from us…so peaceful! I didn’t really understand the situation of the grounds until we got there, but found that Beth and Tim have several apartments, a tent along with the cabin they rent out on their property. Although many people may be on the property at one time, it felt private. The cabin has a fenced in private yard which was perfect for my dog who would have run off into the woods. The hot tub and pool is shared and if you take them up on any of their meal offers (I would highly recommend the breakfast!) you go into their house to enjoy it.

I was sad to leave this little gem of a vacation spot and hope to return. – George

We had a fantastic time at Beth and Tim’s on our minimoon!!! The cabin was perfect and my sister arranged for Tim to take us on a canoe trip, which was unbelievably fun!!! They’re really terrific!! I highly recommend!!!! – Georgina

June 2013

This was a lovely place to stay! The cabin is very nicely decorated (the shower is especially cool) and was very clean. My husband and I brought our small dog, who’s not great off the leash, and we were excited to be able to let him run around in the enclosed area right off the cabin. Beth and Tim’s suggestions for hikes and walks were wonderful–we had an especially good time walking the rail trail to Kerhonkson and having drinks at the bar there (dog friendly on the back patio!). The walk to the waterfall, while a bit more challenging (for a small dog!), led to an absolutely amazing view. I just wish we’d had more time here! – Jen

June 2013

My boyfriend and I and our two dogs stayed at Beth and Tim’s cabin over Memorial Day weekend. It was perfect. The yard is fenced, which was great for our dogs. Tim and Beth have three lovely dogs and one of them, Kuma, is extremely friendly and played a lot with our two dogs. The property is absolutely beautiful. We could see horses from our kitchen window. Would definitely recommend to anyone seeking an easy getaway, especially if you have a dog or dogs! – Lucy

Great relaxing scenic. Easy drive from NYC, but feels a world away. Accord, surprisingly cute, quiet town, and a short drive from New Paltz if you need more. Everything just as described. Mr. Ed’s Cabin has a fenced in front yard, perfect if you bring a dog to roam around. Thank you. – Mike

We loved the fun decor – especially the woodwork — in Mr. Ed’s Cabin. The cabin is just the perfect size for two. My boyfriend and I spent a day in Minnewaska State Park — a beautiful area that we hope to explore come summertime! – Claire

March 2013

Had a fabulous time at Mr. Ed’s Cabin. We wanted a private weekend, so didn’t avail ourselves of the meal options. Still, we were warmly greeted by our host, who shared his excellent recommendations for local eateries. The younger dog accompanied us on a roaming look around the property, from the fields, to the abandoned treehouse and along the stream. The cabin itself was warm, clean, comfortable and well-stocked with kitchen tools. We loved being able to make ourselves morning coffee and a little breakfast before going out to explore. All in all, this was a perfect home base for a weekend away from the city. We hope to come again! – Dynishal

March 2013

My girlfriend and I came here for a quick weekend getaway and had a great time. The cabin was comfortable and clean. We did the “pizza party” as well as breakfast over at the main house. Both were tasty and it gave us a chance to hang out with Tim and Beth’s three amazing dogs, as well as a few of the other guests’ dogs (oh, and chat with Tim and Beth, who are incredibly nice). As a dog-loving couple who lives in a building that doesn’t allow animals, this was a huge perk for us! It was also great walking around the farm property and seeing the horses, chickens, and cats.

Tim and Beth were great hosts. Very accommodating and easy to talk to. Tim also gave us some great suggestions for a day trip we did to Woodstock, which I’d recommend doing if you stay here. Our one regret is that we didn’t find the time to use the hot tub, but it looked great! – Joshua

February 2013

My girlfriend and I had a delightful stay in Mr. Ed’s Cabin. The property was beautiful and there were animal friends aplenty.. horses, chickens, dogs, kittens (one of which we took in and named Barnabus). Beth and Tim were great hosts who are down to hang out if you want to socialize, or equally happy to leave you to your own devices. We will definitely go back. – Jon

January 2013

Mr Ed’s Cabin is fantastic! Beth and Tim are the relatives who live upstate you WISH you had. The cabin is cozy and exactly like the pictures. We brought our 16 month old and our Boston Terrier. Both had a great time chasing the chickens and exploring the grounds. The baby loved the horses. They are so friendly, and they live right behind the cabin. It was still snowy when we were there, but we used the hot tub anyway, what a treat in the cold open air, and only a minute walk from the cabin. We asked for the pizza party and the breakfast and both were great. We really enjoyed making our own pizza with every topping possible (even indian!). Beth and Tom are so down to earth, and so easy to be around. What an enchanted world they live in, we were happy to be a part of it for a couple days. We will be back! – Monica

January 2013

Tim and Beth are excellent hosts. They are a great team, and their accommodations are awesome! We had such a nice time staying in the cabin, and are already trying to figure out when to plan our next visit! The cabin is so cozy, and the outdoor jacuzzi is a nice bonus as well. Everything turned out just as described in the profile, and even exceeded our expectations! – Kelly

January 2013

Our stay was wonderful up at Beth and Tim’s farm. The cabin was incredibly built by Tim and Beth—you will be in awe at the shower they built to look like a wine barrel, and the love they put into the whole space, down to finding the perfect drawer pulls that look like country western boots!

We came without a car and both Tim and Beth were incredibly accommodating–dropping and picking us off at the stonykill waterfall, into town, and even to the New Paltz bus station—all for a nominal gas fee.

If you’re getting bogged down by city life, a few days roaming around their property with chickens, cats, dogs and horses will make you feel much much better. – Charice

December 2012

Highly recommended! Beth and Tim have put a ton of love into their property and are great hosts. And their friendly dogs, cats, horses, and chickens make the experience even that much better! Their property is far from the road and you can’t hear any traffic. And I highly recommend that one takes them up on their pizza party option, for the great company and great food. – Jordan

Our stay at Mr Ed’s Cabin was amazing. The cabin was incredibly cute, charming, and very comfortable. During our two nights there we slept like babies. In our opinion, this is a perfect romantic getaway for couples who want to spend some quality time together and clear their minds of all their worries. Beth and her husband are very accommodating, warm, and welcoming. When we talked with the two of them we also discovered that they are very talented and environmentally friendly (which we loved). September 2012

Our stay at Beth and Tim’s was perfect. The cabin was lovely, with lots of charming details. The land was beautiful. We didn’t get a chance to walk around and explore, but got to see quite a bit just from our front porch. Beth and Tim were both very warm and welcoming. The animals (dogs, horses, chickens, and six-week-old kittens) and hot tub were big bonuses! – Laurel

August 2012

What a fantastic find! We arrived late at night after a 2 hour drive from JFK and a yummy meal at a place just up the road that was recommended by Beth. The cabin was unlocked with a light on to welcome us. Walking in, we were pleasantly surprised to find the place was super clean and much better than the pictures online. In the morning were greeted by a very happy Tim who was very warm and welcoming. In addition to providing us with some great recommendations: farm store, bikes, rail trail, apple orchard, swimming hole, they welcomed us into their home for dinner and wine. Both Beth and Tim are delightful hosts, very open with some fantastic stories and a fantastic property to match. They were kind enough to show us around the property and even the new accommodation they are working to finish off. Free range chickens, horses and dogs running around with the beautiful red barn gave the place a lovely feel. The cabin itself has everything that you might need: small kitchen, microwave, comfy bed, quirky cowboy decor (each piece with a story behind it) and the famous wagonwheel shower! Amazingly, the whole cabin was hand built by Tim. If you’re looking for a getaway in the country this is where it’s at. – Philip

August 2012

Everything about our stay was great, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. The cabin is super cute, the land is beautiful, the horses, dogs, kitties, and chickens were all welcoming, and Beth and Tim were fabulous- warm, generous, helpful, and just good people. It’s a very special place. – Selena

July 2012

These guys were awesome! The Cabin is perfect for a couples weekend away, but big enough that if I was going hiking with a friend I wouldn’t feel weird about it. Its back a little from the main house, and with its own yard, so we were able to sit and sip drinks and watch fireflys (ohh my god sooo many fireflys) for some alone time.

Our hosts had a bonfire Saturday night which we loved, and spent some time with in the hot tub with another couple staying in one of the main room’s houses (they also seemed very happy).

This house was conveniently located to everything. We hit the outlets on the way up, went to Tutilltown for a distillery tour and some winery’s which was a stunning drive down Hwy 55 through the park (less then an hour), visited Storm king for an afternoon picnic, and had dinner in Rinebeck before crossing the bridge back to our Cabin.

If you are planning on checking out the Hudson Valley, there is no better place to do it from. – Michael

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of April. Our time with Beth and Tim was memorable, peaceful, and serenely romantic. The cabin was cozy and adorable with not a single tiny touch forgotten. Our experience was made greater by our host’s warmth and abundant generosity . We highly recommend, and will certainly return. – Robyn
